AI that assists, never decides
When you choose to use AI features, Rooted sends photos and plant data to OpenAI to help you understand your plants better.
AI can analyse plant photos for stage and health, generate growing guides tailored to your plant's profile, and identify unknown plants from a photo or name.
Every AI result is shown for your review before anything is saved. You stay in control — always.

AI is a helpful companion — not a replacement for your own judgment.
Accuracy & Limitations
AI suggestions are a helpful starting point, not a definitive diagnosis. Results depend on photo quality, lighting, and plant species. Always use your own judgement.
Your Control
You choose when AI is used. Every result is shown for review before it's saved. You can disable AI entirely by simply not providing an API key.
Data Usage
Photos sent for analysis are processed by OpenAI's API and are not stored by Rooted. Rooted itself collects no analytics or user data. AI features require your own OpenAI API key.
Safety
Growing guides and diagnoses are AI-generated and may not be accurate. Before applying any advice, consider your plant's specific conditions and consult a specialist if in doubt.
